Topping out at 198 again right before cutting…
Metabolism is a funny thing, and by “a funny thing” I actually mean “non-linear”. I haven’t been keeping track of calories the last 2-3 weeks, but my meal portions have been considerably smaller. Yet, I’m back to 198 today after being 194ish the past few days.
This is exactly why I tell people that are trying to lose/gain weight to not worry so much about what the scale says short-term. There are so many factors that can cause your body weight to fluctuate (sudden and temporary metabolism rise/drop, water weight, etc) day-to-day or even week-to-week, which is why so many people lose motivation because the scale throws up a number that they didn’t expect or think they don’t deserve. Those that stay with it in the long run are those that are going to see results–granted that they work towards their goals the right way (dieting). Those that give up after a few weeks obviously don’t have what it takes, the gym isn’t for everyone… but if you’re still coming back to my site, chances are the gym might be for you. (yes, I stole that from Greg Plitt).
Whether I do or don’t hit 200 or not the cut starts before the end of this month, just cruising until then. Shoulders and abs tomorrow right after my Assault pre-workout comes in, been without it for almost a week now. UPS says early delivery is tomorrow, going to be highly disappointed if they are just teasing me… I’m having beta-alanine face tingly withdraws.
